The industry standards define video production the process as script design or concept as the beginning all the way to the final edited version of the production company’s creation process.
We feel video production is a creative process involvingd with motion pictures, television media, cable and satelite media, news footage, as well as corporate training videos, videography, depositions, and internet video. Videos can range in length, size, scripts, purpose, distribution and overall purpose.
The Following are the steps involved in Video Production:
First and foremost, there is a budget … what is your budget to do your production?
Second, you step into script design or purchasing of a script you like. The design process of a script can be lengthy but is important for the overall creation of your video.
Third, you evaluate your budget covering the casting, labor, camera-video-audio-lighting-wiring-transportation-lodging-food-and all necessary production costs.
Fourth, you proceed into casting and labor from the director and producer down to the freelancers and unions involved in the process. This is involved with all sizes of video production, from YouTube commercials to the major motion pictures - the size is just scaled accordingly.
Fifth, you get into renting and purchasing aspects for the production plan. Again, budgeting, contract agreements, research and meetings. All scaled according to the video production size.
Sixth, you start shooting your production plan based on script, casting, and director and producer goals.
Seventh, after shooting all aspects in production, you step into the post production phase handling editing and piecing together your media with graphics, titles, scenes, special effects, etc…
Eighth, is the collaboration for marketing or promoting the video. Distribution or placement of the video whether its on YouTube or Viddler or mass marketing to movie theatures or cable companies.
Ninth, is the presentation of the media which is the fun part. |
